Not a Heritage Walk

The walks can be seen as transgressions, spatial provocations that uncover and foreground
diverse histories, memories and experiences of life in a city.

Cities are in flux. Landscapes alter and mutate, in the blink of an eye. Cities rise, cities fall. This simultaneity colours the texture of city life – amidst shadows and reflections. Glossy depictions of a promised tomorrow justify excavations of the present day.  As cities create and destroy; walks are a call to introspection. The walks can be seen as transgressions, spatial provocations that uncover and foreground diverse histories, memories and experiences of life in a city.

To dig deeper than the eye approves, take a walk that is not green, pretty or proud. We walk amidst ‘embarassed landscapes’ to activate senses that otherwise, remain dull, oblivious and apathetic.
