Oorali - Band on a Bus

Once in a while, you come across a band whose sound is very hard to define. A band that sounds vaguely familiar, and yet very different from anything you’ve heard before. A band that plays with different genres from jazz to folk to pop to rap, yet rooted in local context. They sing in Malayalam, English and Spanish but their appeal is universal. Apart from performing artists they also tell stories, paint, change backgrounds and clown around between the performance. Their songs are about impacts of capitalism, globalization, climate change, consumerism, environmental damage among other themes.
